It just sucks it right in through the brine process. Older brother used to add whiskey to his brined pork bellies years ago to slice for bacon...some of the finest slab bacon you ever had.

Thanks USMC615, I'm new to pork belly we don't see it much up here, except it has gotten trendy in some of the restaurants that are not in my budget...
I like the idea of a 4-5 hour smoke, versus brisket at 10-11,
Whiskey sounds like a fine addition -- I used to use it a lot in grilling, back when the older son was stihl in the house.

He ripped off part of it and reshingled. I have to see when snow melts or next rain. He just did it Friday.

He still thinks it's coming in around the chimney. He nailed down flashing around chimney where he saw some water.
