Do you cook them before sealing or raw? Sounds like a plan.
Zero cooking when vac sealing. Not even a blanch for skin removal. We slide the sharp edge of a knife on the skin without piercing the skin. We use enuf pressure that we see the color of the skin change, usually gets noticeably darker. Skin will usually release rather easily. Then cube to your desired size and seal. Takes some practice with all the liquid. We always double seal as well, drying the seam before the second seal.

I might just have to make a trip to Minnesota
I finally received an initial contact from the Tama gentleman.
A few questions need to be answered b4 I would take the drive to engage the inquiry. Who knows maybe my route would make a detour, time will tell!!!!

Tama will put you in Mark’s backyard & you can go to the casino while you are there.

So when using this turd do you have the baler in there chasing around you to make turning easier ???

Chase borrowed his neighbors R2300 & sent me to do a field that is full of point rows. I dislike the fact that I can’t pick the rake up to turn. It does appear to pickup the hay well or in the 400yards I have raked anyway. The first corner I got the quick coupler into a hose coupling so now I am sitting waiting on they repair wagon. I knew I should of taken the coupler off but got distracted after seeing flat tires & bearings out on the bar ends when I hooked up to it.

I may like it more after a bit of time but initially I am unimpressed. Low ground clearance in transport mode & no ability to lift the rake are major drawbacks in Chases fields anyway.
One on rake and one on baler is how we do it. I tend to run three rounds on the field perimeter and then straight runs back and forth across the field. Don't have to cross windrows and can move on to the next field. I feel your pain on catching the hose, been there done that. Deere's we run you lift the hitch arms up and they miss the tongue of the rake. Kuboto not so much. Have to drop them, cut a hose by pinching it making a turn first time we hooked up with it. It does hang too low in the back when you fold it in and raise the front to cut across windrows unless you want to clean it up later with the baler.

These windrows were about 3’h x 4’ wide so it makes crossing them a non starter & the low hanging rake gets into them.

A couple people told me the newer ones have lift cylinders on them.

Most of this hay needs to be turned to get the bottom to dry so chasing with a baler isn’t viable. He is mowing with a 16’ mow-co so the windrows are pretty thick & need rolled to rolled to get air to the stuff on the bottom.

Chase is looking at a 14-16 wheel high capacity, he currently has a 12 wheel & it’s opened up so wide that the angle of wings is so flat that it doesn’t always pickup all the hay in the heavy stuff.

I liked the way the Vermeer picked up the though.

Got my hay all in the barn.....the old Hesston pressure washed and tore down. Looks like someone replaced the bearing, but the roller tube was wallered out bad. That's probably why the fella I bought it from sold it. I've probably made 500 or 600 bales with it before it finally gave up.

Been thinking about that baler. I'm just gonna make a new end for the roller on my lathe, then weld it on..
I was gonna ask bout that.

Then suggest you put a couple rags over the bearing and drive it in 😂 yeah I’ve done it.

My 9500 combine had a shammy cloth jammed in a hydraulic pulley Only time it ever saw pressure was picking corn. It wept oil but so little I never took it back apart. Ran it that way 6-8 years. Sooooo 1600 acres at least.

The things we do to keep moving 😂

Thanks. Going to give it a try. We have lots of tomatoes if we keep the bugs at bay.
