Never had as much luck with the red corn head. We run the older jd heads. Very reliable I actually wrecked the last head never let me down but the outside snout slid into a culvert. Bent the whole row.

It's been a really dry summer in my neck of the woods. I bet I'll be combining earlier this year.

View attachment 32838 View attachment 32839 Gettin ready to give it a whirl. Not much ready yet but gonna head out to see

That reminds me of the 8 row 20" head we went to ohio in 1979 to get for the Gleaner G. We had 2 Gleaner g's back then. One Diesel and one gas, With a 436, and a 636 corn head. And a 13' and a 15' grain heads. The 20" corn head we only used about 2 years.

Some of the old days, apx. 1979 to 1983, Sorry for the bad pics. The 1466 international, with spray rig, and the 986 international with 10 row 20" J.D. planter with fertilizer tanks mounted. And the oliver 1855 with 12' chisel plow and loader burning old barn. ( all tractors have dual's ) The 1586 IH and the 3020 John Deere are not here at this time.

Will try to load more if you like!

One of the Gleaner G's doing beans.

1st picture is a green bine

jakethesnake. I always liked the silver ones.. The last one we had was a gleaner L2,with a 16' bean head. thought it was a massive combine back then! The neighbor had a N6 a few years ago with a 8 30 head, That bastard would eat until the motor went out.

Just for fun my gramp used to say they were gonna start painting those gleaners when they got the bugs worked out of em. Ha ha. There were a few gleaners around here but not nearly as many right in my "hood" Seemed more popular in md not many dealer here Were the older ones rotary?

There's a bunch of Gleaners here. Strong dealer with great service. He's a Kubota dealer now. I heard a rumor he's going to start selling Kubota's combines.
