I had a new PTO clutch installed in my 2640......5450.00

Cheap !!!!
5400 uses a combo clutch pack for transmission and pto. If I had the time I would have done it myself, but need it for hay now if the weather cooperates.

I’d like to know the cost. My buddies 5420 is right at needing a clutch.
Will do. Had one done on a 5400 cab a few years ago that if I remember correctly was under $3000 at a dealer. All area dealers got bought out recently by larger one and I couldn't get a phone call returned trying to get it in now. Took it to a local recommended tractor repair shop.

We contacted one guy who will come out and do it at your place if you have a level spot and have the older and brackets off already. He did a Case for a friend for $1100

They've let the service dept alone here for the most part. Still don't care for this mega dealership path deere is on.
They bought out and closed the dealer we used to go to. The closest one now caters mainly to small stuff such as mowers and doesn't have the parts in stock for larger items. But I can sell you a new tractor. LOL

We would be done if I wouldn’t have taken a donated POS Case IH 900 plate planter. It is wore out more than a $5 hooker. Plan on buying another used JD 7000 and adding the Pequea top drive to it. We already have one 7000. Hard to beat those planters for the money and what we use them for. The old 3020 is still ticking along and the new tractor bounces like hell.
