Moved some bovine to knee high grass tonight. Decided to let the cows graze it rather than make it for hay, since we have enough already. ( this would be the third cutting ) Very unusual for us here!

How many head you keeping through the winter Charlie?

There would be 22 head here now, with 4 more cows left to calf. All but 1 belongs to the neighbor now, as I am no longer able to work them. They were here all day today going over the fences on the fields that I have not had cows on in over 12 years. I will be helping him feed during the winter, as we have massive amounts of hay this year. The most cows we have run at one time is around 85 head on two farms when I was able to work them.

Scrapple in the supper thread soon?

Scrapple and eggs, with fried potatoes toast and jelly!! Some of the best scrapple I ever had was in Finwick Delaware next to Ocean City Maryland about 30 years ago at a restaurant that had polka dots on it. ( we used to make it here years ago when we killed hogs. ) Got to love scrapple!

We had the oppisite problem here. Our first cutting got caught in a surprise thunderstorm. Had my daughter blow apart the windrows.

Truly a lucky man, I never got my daughter to get interested in driving the tractors. ( she did like shooting the 22 rifle at the metal target though. )

You know, I'll have to ask the butcher about it. It's definitely not a popular item around here, but we get enough people coming for apples and cider that if we put it out for sale, I bet we'd find some takers. I've never had any personally, but I'd love to try it.

She got board with it after about a half hour. I should put her on the square baler with the narrow pick-up. That will keep her attention!

She really enjoys shooting her bow.

Slice it thin and pan fry slowly till it crisps. You'll love it.

I can't seem to catch a break lately. The PTO quit working on my 2640 yesterday.

I've not really got time to fix it.....

Sad
