I don't doubt that it was well made or other top handles for that matter. Personal opinion, I just don't like them, for me they feel awkward to handle, that is why I joke on here that all top handle saw are junk/trash. I worked on a couple of Echo's for a coworker, the saws worked great, but not for me.

When you need a top handle, they’re great. The rest of the time they just twist your wrist.

When you need a top handle, they’re great. The rest of the time they just twist your wrist.
I have not found a need on small stuff yet that my 440 could not handle, but then again, I don't climb trees and cut either.

Is this still genuine oem 661 full wrap handle.
My friend wants to buy it for his saw and noticed there's no white piece where the handle connects to the side of the saw.
I looked at pics of 661s with full wrap handles and they all had the white piece.
What does the white piece actually do? Is it necessary? Can s handle be installed and function without it? Is it possible that eBay listing is just using an incorrect picture?
Any help on the matter would be appreciated.
