Unfortunately the internet can work in our favor as much as it works against us. You know how some folks on the forums have driven prices up on certain models, hopefully with that you are in before the threads come out and can sell before folks move on to the next best thing.
Personally I don't even call on an ad unless it's priced where I'm willing to buy or I know someone else is wanting that particular model.
I have made exceptions if it's something I want and know doesn't often show up, but then I won't buy unless they will deal.
