Like I said it probably needs the seals replaced:risas3:.
I've never had one with bad seals, sounds as though the heat really gets to them down there, that and running dull chains.
Where did you get that one from.

Neighbor who was getting out of land clearing business. He said it was squealing real funny when it ran too. Got it back to the house and had to put the bar in a vise and tap the screech with a hammer to get the nuts off in order to loosen the chain which i couldn’t pull away from the bar.

Wow! Hopefully that crank side bearing isn't FUBAR.

Yeh I haven’t taken it all apart yet. Never changed seals before so don’t know what I’m doing yet anyways. The squealing seems to have been the clutch bearing. The saw with run and cut at least. Replaced carb because it was bogging no matter the tune. But after replacement it got worse and has a high idle but not catastrophic. Who knows what can be found underneath

I have seen a couple of them squeal like that. I got one off a buddy that he had been using that way for years lol. I'm pretty sure I sold one that had a similar squeal to @mikerudder as well. Maybe he will be able to offer up some advice.

Once I loosened it up it just about fully went away. I’ll get to it one day. Probably going to get a quote from the Stihl dealer on having the seals replaced :/

Here’s a local ad for you husky guys. Looks to be decent condition up close. I’d be surprised if it were.

The reality is thats more of a firewood hoarders paradise :aplastao:. The driveway and side yard are more reserved for Honda cars, a couple hand foreman carcasses, bunch of various trailers, some tractor implements, more firewood and the log pile.
There is another 10 cords of rounds to the left of the pole barn pad which is behind my sweet 98 odyssey :campeon:.

I try to keep everything hidden from view in the basement. It's getting pretty full, this is a part, mainly huskys .

I like Your Dolmar's!
Place the two that are surrounded by the "other" saws with the full wrap one.
They like to keep company and it is easier to cuddle with them that way. wub.gif

What about the other ones(like I said this is a part ;)), they keep multiplying :dogpile:.
I like those other saws too, and they all need to get along:beer-toast1:.

You got to love the firewood and saw hoards. Oh and btw it looks pretty tidy out front.
I told you they were coming for my wood I'll be back:monoloco::uzi::machinegun::2guns::para:
There's another pile of rounds as well as some of the dirt that I removed to level the pad for the future pole barn.

Seals hard to do?

Absolutely not! The hardest part is tearing down to get motor out of case. Easy peasy after that. There are 2 part #’s for seals, one is if you’re not splitting the pan, other is if you are. Get the ones that split the pan I think they are easier.

I’ve done one set and about to start another.

I took mine apart, cleaned the whole saw, lubed the clutch bearing and it’s been good ever since!
