I gots no time to do a J̶a̶c̶k̶ build-off saw this year. So I’ll probably just place/take bets on winners and losers.

Brett, Stump Shot Steve built me a saw that will be there and I won’t. I’d be honoured if you rant it for me.

Supposed to be in 4 places that day, unfortunately TN is 2000 miles away from the others.

I’ll be more than happy to oblige Gary.

The Cant Races at the 4th Annual MMWS GTG and Randy-Rama!!!
I had a chat today with @Stihlbro and we have figured out the classes, etc for the cant races this year.
Randy @Mastermind has said he will get Poplar to run in this year YAY!!
0-44cc in 8x8
0-51cc in 8x8
0-65cc in 8x8
0-81cc in 10x10
0-100cc in 10x10
unlimited in 10x10
all classes - fuel can be whatever you like, keep in mind that in bracket racing you may end up with two or more races back to back so funny fuel might be a bad idea, run whatever bar and chain you like, we can run hot over the wood or hot on the ground idling or cold start whatever the majority of competitors would like to do, we want to have lots of participation and lots of fun.
Unlimited is run what cha brung, anything is fine, 3 cube, 10 cube, pipes, nitro, alky, vintage, modern, whatever ya want to run.
going to do an entry fee of $5 per class with winner takes all payout in each class
If it is anything like last year there will be continuous timed runs of every saw on earth from the moment the bracket racing is done until it is too dang dark to see any more :)
We will hopefully have some cants for practice and tuning ahead of time.

These are tentative classes set up many months ago. A lot has changed since then. If planned to use one cant per class, I see that 5 to 6 8x8’s, three 10x 10’s are needed. This does not include the 1 or 2 cants that get used before the racing starts. This is hard to know when the total number of racer are unknown. In the back ground there is some interest in some exhibition type racing( cold start, alky saws). Speak up now to help make this a great turn out. This type of racing is better suited in a sanctioned event where there are announcers, time keepers and ran on a schedule. But..... this could be an opportunity for the crowd to see saws at another level.
In the past years I’ve wore myself out with picking up cookies, changing wood, putting the classes together, trying to run classes, starting the race, walking to the other side of the property to get the next person in place. It has been a fun time for me, I couldn’t of done it with out help of others that were there. But I am not going to wear myself out this year.
For now, until it is known who is racing, then we can determine wood, how many cuts, style of cutting. The classes are what is stated above. Please run the correct cubic inch saw in the correct class, or I will call you out! I can make this happen or I can sit in a lounge chain and cheer.

Questions or comments, please feel free to ask, call me if needed.

I have my room booked at the Jordan Motel, plan to be out on Billy York Road on Friday. I'll bring my MM 550XP if I haven't worn it out by next week...I have been putting a lot of tanks of fuel through it.

I’ll be there mostly just playing around Joey. If you need anything, lean on me.
I can hunt racers up, move cants, sit with you and have a beer, etc. just say the word.

If everyone tosses their cookies on the pile at the end of their run that would go along way to lessening the work load

sounds good
John suggested a new kind of dollar race if guys are interested this year. The 3 cube speed cuts lasted till after dark last year, if guys wanted to kick in a buck a cut it might be a fun competition, if not I am sure we sill still use up the cants :)
