I have been way more open to other brands of saws since I owned the 661. If that is the way Stihl is going to go they will loose some of there market share for sure. Now if only Makitia or echo would make current 90cc then I think there would be a change. But guys will continue to buy Stihl because there is no other options. Most guys that I know won't use a 395 because of there size. And a 390 just doesn't seem to have the grunt of a 660.
Well we all know @RI Chevy has a thick skin.
You had me till you said the 390 doesn't have the grunt of a 660, stock 660 is one of the biggest turds I have ever ran stock.
Seriously. Couldn’t have picked anything much uglier
I concur, not sure what he ran for a 390 but it musta been sick unless he was referring to a 390 Stihl farm saw thingyYou had me till you said the 390 doesn't have the grunt of a 660, stock 660 is one of the biggest turds I have ever ran stock.
Probably a decent saw, but you guys are dreaming as far as anybody actually buying these things. Be about like the chart above where 1 guy out of 61 runs an Echo.
Not exactly great timing for them either. With the 565/572 and MS462 and MS500i just around the corner, (with more models to come not long after), the Echo is going to have a hard time getting noticed.
There's 7 billion of us on this rock - having more than 2 brands of OPE prolly can't hurt.
I'll just leave this here...

Crap!!!That's $1850cdn for a 70cc saw.
That's a lot of loot for something that weighs 12 pounds and has 3 moving parts.Crap!!!

Better get that 395 to a Dr’s office if a stock 660 is keeping up with itI'm a bit surprised by some of the negative comments about the MS660! We use one & a 395XP for blocking down big trees in suburbia. The 660 often goes up the tree, once the branches get too much for a 70cc saw. The 395 very rarely goes up there. Both are pretty much equal on the ground, cutting up tree trunks into man handle-able sized logs, but if the 660 is sharp & running, it's the 1st choice to have in the tree over the 395.
I love Echo, so I hope they get it right with the new saw. If there is one that is.
They do seem to like those colorsLooks a bit different than the prototype I seen
But hard to tell from the vid.
This one appears to have carb adjuster holes.
I doubt the 572 will get much attention either with the 462/500 combo. Echo might need to stick with the adjustable carb. Can’t tell you how many people I know that fear electronics.
