My 670 has been stronger than every 372 or 2172 I have ran or ran against! Now my 7300 is another story!I haven’t ran a 272 that would even hang with a 044 to be honest
I have a MMWS 362. It still doesn't impress me much. It is definitely better than stock, but not the gains of other saws I have had Randy port. Him and I have had the discussion of gains on the 362. He says it will wake up after quite a few tanks. His 261s are another animal.

That sounds a bit unrealistic judging how the two 272’s ran that I repaired. Good saws, just didn’t have the snap of a 372. Just imho.My 670 has been stronger than every 372 or 2172 I have ran or ran against! Now my 7300 is another story!
Finished a 362 recently for a fella here. It was a turd right out of the box and wasnt much better after work. He needed it for a job so I sent it off. Maybe mtronic has a break in program like some of the autotune saws have?Finished a 362 recently for a fella here. It was a turd right out of the box and wasnt much better after work. He needed it for a job so I sent it off. His impressions were as yours.
Then out of the blue he called me and said it was like a switch and its a completely different saw. Im still unsure why.
I cant believe it was just the break in. Ive built quite a few new out of the box and never saw one like this.

I can respect that. It’s solely opinion. Mine came with a 20” bar and all the hype made it sound like it would pull that size bar as well as older 60cc saws. Not quite. That’s why for me it was overrated. They are great saws, and if a man wanted a great one and only firewood Saw a 346 would be perfect, just not for me and what I do. This is great discussion and I love to hear others opinions on stuff like this.
In my experience 266's run well too, the 670's are the hottest of the bunch! The 268/272 seem to be tamer than the 266/670 inmo346 and 660 late versions were the 2 that were way under powered after hearing reviews on them to me. I bought new of both back several years ago. Ported they’re a lot better. I liked the OE version of the 346 better stock. I have one now with just a muffler mod and it’s ok for a baby saw.
266 was a better runner than the 272s I’ve run
Yes, I believe it is. I took it to him still in the box. I didn't know what to expect since I hadn't ran one. I got three saws together in trade for some welding work for a buddy that runs a tree service. I had the 261 and 362 ported at the same time. I had ran a 261 and knew the ported version was A LOT better. Randy warned me that it would take some time for the saw to wake up after porting. I am still on tank 2 or 3 on that saw. I just don't grab it as much having a ported 261 and 461.Tell me more about your 362.
Is it a ver. 2?

The 346's were hit and miss, some were dogs others were screamers. I have a mostly stock 346 that will hang with fully ported saws.346 and 660 late versions were the 2 that were way under powered after hearing reviews on them to me.
