Good thread Huskyboy,
I got three 1122 shelf queens 1986 064, 1992 066 Mag red light and a 1997 066 Mag (last of the strong 066's before they went EPA detuned in 1998).

The two 066's I OEM rebuilt a year ago and had offers $800 CDN for each of them, I couldn't sell they have since been serving my tree service.
The '92 066 is running a 064 flywheel, rewind housing, top cover and a 268XP top handle. No dogs and replacing the dual outlet muffler with the '97 gutted standard muffler saved almost a lb. The '92 066 weighs almost as much as a 046.
It's my ripper saw with 20" ES light.

The '97 066 is a real surprise to me, I thought my older red light was the stronger of the two. But after its rebuild and running 28"-36" it's a real torque monster. I'm very happy to have the last year model of the strong upgraded 066's.
Oh BTW my '86 064AV with race ported cylinder and 084 carb I'm not sure yet what to do with it.

They later 064 pump still uses that hard line but uses the same adjustment screw that the 066 uses - Early 064 pump has a pretty large head on the adjustment without the visible clocking hard stop on the pump body. I don't have both in front of me but have the new style at home. Newer style pump pins together just like 066 pump

Can you learn much from the serial number?

Your 064 is either a 1987 or '88 model.
My two first year 064's I bought new in 1986 serial #'s started with 116.
Great saws, I logged with them 8 hours a day 5 days a week.

I hope someone can post a picture, this is all I have for a picture of the pump on my saw.EC074568-62B1-4B41-A389-992FEF796B61.jpeg

Who did you cut for?
I cut for Manfor (Manitoba Forestry Resources Ltd.) from 1974 to 1994. The company was sold to a private company in 1989 named Repap (paper spelled backwards), then in 1994 to Tolko(Thorlekson brothers, Vernon,B.C.). Notice every second letter removed to spell Tolko.
We were always IWA unionized since the early 1970's.

During company shutdowns I felled for Simpson Timber and Weyerhauser in northern Saskatchewan. They weren't unionized and talk about cheap and rip you off on the scale!!

Show more of your pump.
This is the pump off one of my 1986 064s. The oil line to the bar pad is long gone self destructed. Was kind of a brown colored fiber material hose.

A lot of years in the woods! Thanks for the information, that’s awesome.

My old man was falling for Columbia Helicopters in Southeast Alaska in the late 80s up until ‘07 or so.

Here’s a couple pics to keep on track... 066 Flat Top.

Go to the JB Weld thread. I posted pics there of two pump housings for 066-660 style. They were repaired....drum rub.

I have the 066 big bearing, short oil tank with aluminium flywheel. What years were they?

No sticker to read. It does have the small plastic insert at the lower front of the oil tank. You see it next to the oil cap. Flat top saw with a plugged decomp jug but it is still the best runner out of many like it in 660 form. It has two sisters who can not keep up. Might be an early dealer rebuild. Someday maybe I'll pull the jug, maybe not, breaks starters too. Pulls a forty with the HO gear and overclocking the bolt.

You got a 1994 or 1995 066 with a 1996 or 1997 decomp cylinder on it. Decomp and poly flywheel came out in 1996.
It won't be a EPA 1998 cylinder if it's as powerful as you say it is.

My o64 number starts out 11779, so yours is likely younger than mine is. Not sure how you showed this Pic without removing the muffler. The muffler hides much of the serial number on my 064.

My biggest squawk is that the compression is so high that it's a bear cat for me to start cold. My logger buddy laughed and dropped started it in nothing flat like a top handle pruning saw. He also does one-arm push ups. After he did he said, "Edwin, don't ever sell this saw."

Cool
It just hit me....the saw was bought new at Macro Equipment in NJ. It might even have worked on my father's property with Tree Service years ago when I was a kid....well not long ago. The saw was in a barn but missing the starter pulley and some screws on that side. The guy told me where the saw came from. I know where that company bought there equipment. The drive side was bare but a seized oil pump. Pump had a wood chip in it. Looked like new inside. I left it under the bench for five years. Started it every now and again. Then I put it together one night. Put a 28" on it went wow. Then popped on a dual front cover and went wow. It still has the original seals and wears a 32 Sugi lite now. All oe but the clutch so I swapped it for another nos to be all oem. This and my 048 are two that shine in stock trim. 048 wears a late model coil.
