It’s 16” diameter, .020” interference fit. 62” OF, 1” too big to fit in our VTL. What do you suggest?
I dunno, dremel it out?!
Good saw port work endurance practice.

I didn't mean to be critisizing, I don't handle metal that big.
Just a lot of heat going into that wheel/hub. Is there no concern regarding unwanted thermal steel structure change?

Wouldn't the axle/shaft have came out had You torched/cut it in half?
From the pictures it looks like You are torching/melting all of it out.

Wheel is steel. Not hot enough to mess with it. Oxygen lance, basically big torch.

That’s impressive!
I was impressed. Beats the heck out of the Arcair Slice and carbon arc.

Basically a huge torch. Acetylene rosebud all the way up, pipe hooked up to oxy tank turned all the way up. Once it gets hot it really goes.

OK, You did cut the shaft in half/quarters and knocked it out.
Cool!

I know what an Oxy-torch is, it is the last resort to get frozen cast iron out of a tub after a heating malfunction of the same.
Luckily I have only seen Oxy-torches in action, never handled one myself.
