This is the upper part of the same patch it’s the kind of fir we all love to see straight not a lot of swell or taper and tall.

That's nice straight timber. I hate butt swell, not because its a pain but that it holds dirt, rocks, metal someone sat next to the tree 20 years ago, mud from an A-hole skidder operator.
I leave the swell on the bottom and let it grab all the dirt and rocks from skidding then I cut it off when I load the logs onto my mill. Usually I cut it to firewood length and then split it.
