I broke it Thursday evening, got an Xray and checked out at the urgent care, then they sent the info to an orthopedic surgeon specialist something something. We were supposed to hear back immediately, but we didn’t hear until this morning. We have a consultation tomorrow in the morning to see what is going to happen I suppose. The urgent care doctor was confident I’d need some sort of surgery, but I really don’t know.
Did you heal up well?
So did they give you a shoulder harness that pulls your shoulders back, while you're waiting? It essentially keeps your shoulders back, to restrict movement, and to keep the bone from grinding on itself, which stings a bit, as you may be finding out.
Yeah, mine healed up fine. No pain, or restricted movement or anything like that, and the second time happened 22 years ago. There's an obvious knot where the bone healed, but that's it. Instead of healing end to end, it healed one bone on top of the other. So the calcium deposit (or whatever it's called) connecting the 2 is noticeable.
I didn't have insurance at the time and they said all surgery would do, is line things back up, end to end, but if I didn't do it, it would still heal up fine.
I was riding dirt bikes in about 4 weeks, they said it would take 8 weeks. Where you are younger, you should heal pretty quick. I hope everything goes good, and they don't cut you open just because.
