I’m up in whatcom county around Bellingham, Washington. I heard awhile back the hardwoods mill in Everett area closed. Wondering where or what else that wood would be sent to as we have an abundance of it here. Just went by a landing the other day and there were piles of alder.

The next closest place might be Port Angeles but there is going to be a lot in just the haul. Are you sure your not seeing piles of Alder pulp?

It could be for pulp, I knew everything went to a mill recently but since its closure I was curious what became of all the wood now? We have a small local mill that still sees a lot of use but is almost exclusively fir. Next one that I know of is I’m Skagit county near anacortes then the Everett facility along I-5.

I believe it was western hardwoods in shoreline that took all of the other species of wood but they are closed now.

Looks like a fair bit of Scotch-broom along the road? We’ve been stuck with a 2 hour commute for awhile. We’ve got a short drive coming up soon. A 61 acre unit about 45 minutes or so away.
