That vine Maple is some nasty stuff, a friends dad who was a veteran faller got killed by some vine Maple outside of Myrtle Point about 20 years ago.View attachment 221443 View attachment 221444 View attachment 221445 Lots of vine maple. The trees aren’t very big.
Yeah, it’s deadly stuff. Always explosive when you cut it, can drag you down the hill; and leaves spears everywhere when you cut it. And a maze to get through. That vine Maple is some nasty stuff, a friends dad who was a veteran faller got killed by some vine Maple outside of Myrtle Point about 20 years ago.

It does help with that, and perhaps erosion control, lol. There’s only one time it’s great stuff is if you have a good old clump of it with a nice big fir that you need to save out sometimes that air spring can help.

I believe so. I have a couple friends who work for Wayne, just getting my info from them.Looks like gnarly yarding. Is it mostly downhill logging?

I have shot several deer on the coast that manage to end up taking there last breath in the nastiest Vine maple patches.
My hats off to you for packing a saw and gear through that stuff and even cutting your way through it, that is some chain throwing garbage right there.
Thanks Ryan.
