3.78 liters in a gallon. So that's close to $4CAD/gal factor in the exchange and I'd be paying around $2.50 U.S. or more a gallon.

You guys get ripped off up there. I've sent some saws up there and they were in the $80-100 range each time. I'm sure if you wanted to do the porting yourself you could send the cylinders down to someone to cut the base and chamber. Just have to get real exact measurements on what you want cut.

So far I've done all my own port work. I'd love to have a saw ported by one of the pros but man with the shipping costs and the exchange rate these days I cant do it. I'm not saying that the cost of having a saw ported is bad at all, I'd gladly pay $300+. What I'm saying is that the exchange rate for me would put that $300 US upto $450ish CAD and the round trip shipping would cost me another $150-$200 CAD. So for me $300 U.S. soon becomes $600+CAD. I wish there were people around my part of the country that did professional port work:(.
Maybe I should buy a lathe and keep studying and practicing then with a little luck someday I could be "that guy"............or not, I guess time will tell

Isn't Ed Heard on the Canadian side?

I'm not sure. I'm fairly new to the whole ported Saw thing. I'm still trying to figure out where everyone is. All I know for sure is that I haven't found anybody in the southern Ontario area. I'll have to try and look up Ed Heard

Is that an aftermarket cover with a Stihl Sticker on it? That looks better than OEM!!

Where did you get the sticker, and what size?
Farmertec clutch cover with a sticker. I had a small handful of stickers made awhile back at a local decal shop. I think I payed $25 cash for 6. The stickers are a little bigger then I wanted but I think they still look ok:)
