I purchased a 493 last fall, used it most of the winter, great saw, runs fantastic. I mostly purchased this cheap saw for carrying in my side by side. I ended up liking it so much I used it almost all winter. I found to stick with the chain Shindaiwa recommends, if you get to aggressive it suffers in power.
