Yes. They must rate HP different now. My grandfather had a 1948 Ford 8n tractor rated at 18 HP. My kawasaki lawnmower engine is 24. That doesn't add up in my mind.
The 8N was introduced very late 1947 or early 1948. Of course as we know the 2N was the predecessor and the 8N was the improved model, albeit the same power. The 8N had a 4 speed and Ford finally but both brake pedals on the right. The 2N and 9N that came before had a 3 speed and brake pedals on each side. It also had a front mount distributor. Of course during the war Ford was not making tractors. When the war ended Grandpa ordered one but production was slow. He finally got it in 1947. It was a 2N and the rear casting shows a production date of March 1947.

It is still in the shed.

"Working HP" vs. "Stall HP," it's a Marketing Department thing.
Yes indeed.

I grew up trapping on the Mississippi and Dad ran 1956 and 1957 Evinrude 18HP outboards. During the summer he would repair outboards for other trappers and commercial fisherman. They would bring him ole OMC outboards to repair. They had replaced them with "modern" outboards only to be dissatisfied with the newer output.

He would fix their old ones for the cost of a handshake

"HIGH RPM" cuts out at 9500!

30cc of power, true bad boy saw.

That's just funny! 🤣

At 9500 rpm, the engine is most likely to reach maximum power.

It's often telling when they don't advertise HP.

This often happens with Japanese products, especially the usual lack of such information in documents intended for the Japanese market.

Definitely a rebadged Maruyama. In Australia you can get Bushranger equipment that is rebadged Maruyama. I have the M30QC Combi system and it's the best I've ever used. Most of the attachments are from Idech (at least the tiller and the rotary scissors are).

Doubtful!
So far all on all 2-stroke OP equipment I encountered the specified "max engine rpm" IS the maximal rpm the unit will achieve either through coil limit or carb limiters.
