Here are a few photos of my 046 with spikes.
I can't remember how I got them to fit. I may have drilled them out a bit. But they also fit my 660 too.

It's not that they don't 'fit', as you have them pictured, but the outer is set back some and the roller catch holes don't line up.
The angles of you're pics (conveniently, lol) and lack of roller, avoid making that obvious.

I will try and see if I can get a better photo Bill. Doc had the traditional chain catcher on there. I mounted the spikes and dod not have a roller catcher to put on. Never even thought about the holes not lining up. Just learned about that from this thread. Lol

There is another budget friendly option, you can get the outer spike and roller catch from hls, and with a little fab work you can line it up with the inner. You'd have to drill both out for the roller catcher though, but it could be done.

Then you wouldn't have the huge spikes. I never cared for the roller catch, never drilled mine out.

If sawmikaze smashes his phone after reading this, it wasn't intentional bruh lol

Wish I had a good picture of some of the thick bark on certain types of wood I've been cutting lately. The little spikes are nearly worthless if you need to dog in. Of course if you're just cutting cookies or firewood that's already on the ground this shouldn't be much of an issue, but large dogs it is for me. Sorry doc, has nothing to do with the size of my dick and everything to do with my massive gnarly wood.

I'm not worried, I thought it was funny. I say the same things about people with massive jacked up trucks that have never seen a mud puddle. I was just pointing out the fact that it is different when they actually get used for their intended purposes. Plus I got to insert 'my massive gnarly wood' into the conversation.

By golly. You guys are all correct. Lol
The spikes mount up, but the clutch side is about 3/16 to 1/4" off alignment. Not much, but just enough that a roller chain catcher won't line up. Lol
Photos probably don't show what the eye can see.

Now what I dont understand is why not see the roller catcher up like husqvarna and have it on the inner dog and thats it.

Just a mathematical equation, Stihl's throw twice as many chains than Husqvarna's do, hence twice the protection. However they both work equally well as a good place for the hook for the anchor line attachment. ;)

Hmmm. I have never thrown a chain on a Stihl, or any saw. 40 plus years. Lol
Maybe I am just lucky.

I've only threw a chain once. I was cutting some over growth crap behind a house and hit some wire.

I've only threw a chain once. I was cutting some over growth crap behind a house and hit some wire with my trusty Stihl brand power saw and finished with a hand saw cause the Husqvarna wouldn't start.

Fixed backatcha
