So the 6400 coil is limited to 13850 instead of 13500 like 7900? My 6421 cuts out at the same rpms as my 7900.

Stock 7900 coil is 13,500. 7910 coil is 12,800. I believe Dave has tinkered with this one, and it has a 272 unlimited coil

7910 and 7310 are 12,800
New Makita EA7900 and EA7300 are 12,800

I keep the saw tuned around 13,700, it likes to run about 11,200 in the cut.
Any of the aforementioned coils would work fine.
The limited ones would be a bit tricky to tune.

Maybe I’ll revisit it later, I’d like to try swapping carbs next.
Have a walbro HD-12 and an RWJ to try.

Yes, kinda, you just have to pop the bottom plate off and look under the diaphragm. Its 4 screws. It's pretty quick to do.
