pull the muffler and use a popsicle stick to measure to bore

looking at some old scans of 1994 microfiche service manuals It looks like that was the recoil style for 08S or 08SQ models
very little printed or electronic documentation I can find on the S-10 at all, I found a hard copy of the S10 IPL but no mention of the bore size
the 08S looks like it was available with a 47mm and 49mm bore, no idea on the S10

The S-10 had a rear handle look to it. The 08S looks like a bigger top handle saw. The 07 looks close to the same as the 08 but the handles are different.
there are rear handle and top handle versions of the S-10 I believe, not a lot of easy info on this model

Yeah you are correct. I forgot all about the top handle S10. Just don't see these old girls much.

My bet is this saw is an 08. The name tag is riveted on and if my memory serves me right, the 08 were the only ones that did that. The 07 and S10 were embossed into the tank.

This saw showed up in my inbox in response to a craigslist "I buy saws" ad. It has no spark, I have to drive 40 miles for it, and the fella wants $75. I think I'm going to pass.

That saw is in good shape for its age. If your into collecting saws, then go for it. To flip or use daily, not so much. They are slower than a modern saw and will vibrate your filling out when cutting. More than likely only needs points filed and condenser replaced.

I use to have a couple 08's seamed like good runners but I was a kid when I had them.
