I read a lot of posts at the beginning of this old thread, and also at the end of the thread... I know that the thread is about Stihl offering depth gauge tools in Europe and maybe some here figure out how to get some to the USA? Without having to read every post in this 10-pg thread, what's the scoop or link? TIA

Or get an Archer FastFiler roller filing guide, which is not "progressive" though.
Also, the Husqvarna roller filing guide incorporates a raker depth gauge similar to the Stihl one.

Archer FastFiler, raker roller set is too aggressive on a new chain, too tame on a worn chain.
Works best 1/5th through 3/5th worn cutters, varying depending on used PH and B&C setup.
These are fairly affordable when on sale on HLSupply.
The FastFiler guide is pitch dependant and fits only full complement chain sequence.


Husqvarna roller guide with raker gauge.
Works fine throughout the whole chains life.
The gauge steel is too soft though and a flat file will bite right into it.
This guide set with files is a little bit pricier.
It fits any chain sequence but is pitch dependant.

I have sent a couple dozen of those to several forum members when the hype for these was high.
The out of stock and wait time for them to come in at my dealer was the biggest issue.
Apparently other fellow members have better Stihl suppliers/dealers.
