Found these in response to another thread. Do not appear to be available in USA. Anyone familiar with or have experience with them? Might need a member-friend in EU to obtain?

I’d be very interested if we could get some imported. I have one Carlton and a couple Husqvarna progressive gauges but not for 1/4 or 3/8 lp

I think that 'a lot' of people would be interested. @Definitive Dave ?
I don't even use these but would be interested in a set, just 'cause FGAD (filing guide acquisition disorder).

Other reason is that I have heard that some of these guides are chain specific (there were many variations of the File-O-Plates) and may not work as well on other brands of chain. So a STIHL specific version would be well received.

Well I googled the 3/8 one
00008934009

And they are available from Fr Jones, quite cheap really £3.00 in the vat, I haven’t looked for the others but I guess they will be..

So unless olive oil dan can get them cheaper,, I could help sort them out for you guys.. I’ve no idea what postage would be.. it may be easier to send them to one place ie De Dave.. but that’s up to you guys

Edit, I just looked they are all the same price what ever size chain you use

I’ve done a currency conversion, it says £3 =$3.88 plus the ride.. so dan seems a bit cheaper.. which I thought it would be. Uk prices Are generally a bit more expensive since the £ dropped in value

Very generous of you to offer.

At that price, I would go for the set of 5, just to have them.

I am hoping that someone already set up to do this kind of thing steps in to keep it easier for all involved, on both sides of the pond. Might need a cooperative STIHL dealer in the EU too, to do this in volume.

What do you think of it? Have you tried it yet? Have you used any of the other progressive gauges (Husqvarna, File-O-Plate, etc.)?

Thanks.

Philbert

I'm hoping to use it tomorrow on my pole saw and a little top handle setup I'm planning to use. We've just started harvesting olives, so it'll be getting plenty of use.

I've mainly used the Oregon file plate and depth gauge and I grind most of my chains. I didn't have anything for the 1/4 pitch chains, so this was a quick and cheap solution.

I wouldn't mind a set of these if anyone is selling for a reasonable price.

I'm curious how they compare the the Husqvarna in terms if depth.

I ordered several sets of these in all gauges from .325 to .404.

Have you had a chance to try any of them,, have you compared them a normal gauge ?..

I'm hopefully going to be very close to Fr Jones on Tuesday (I should doing a job about 5miles away) I’m hoping to be able to go in before coming home. I’m not sure if they got them in stock thou..

How many sets did you order dan.
