My vote is to give Echo a try. Little heavier and more grunt than speed maybe but well worth a try for the price.Okay so somebody help me out here. There’s a Rural King right in town close to where I live. I was talking with the power equipment department manager about a 462 and he said they had sold two (2) TWO the whole year of 2024!!!! Yet the prices keep going up, seemingly every quarter???? What

Best to buy a spool of it and make ur own, it works out in ur favor quite well,I went through the pile of dead saws the other day and realised I had enough bits to combine a few ms170 / 180's into a working saw. All I needed at the end was a chain to suit the 14" 3/8LP 050 bar I have.
Picked up some ordered parts from the Stihl dealer and asked for a chain. $39.20. F that.
Went to a independent shop and get offered Oregon 91VXL for $12 per loop or carlton N1C for $10 per loop.
Gave the guy the $40 in cash I had on me and got 2 loops of both. I don't care how good the Stihl chain might be, I'm sure these 4 loops will last longer.

A 100 foot spool will yield (31) 50 drive loops. He paid $10AUS per loop for his. So (31) chains would be $310AUS out the door. Now you have to take into account in US cash he only paid $6.75 per loop so that would be $209.25 out the door. Right now a 100ft reel of 91VXL is $480US plus shipping from Baileys...................Went to a independent shop and get offered Oregon 91VXL for $12 per loop or carlton N1C for $10 per loop.

You got a very good deal. Those chains will honestly last me 10 years, I just don't use much 3/8LP.
I got a great deal on it and the VXL cuts great
