So the 460 oil pump will drop directly into a 362/400? Is that correct? My 400 will barely oil a 20. Always worried about getting it hot.
Yes, i have a 460 pump in my 362, had to actually turn it down a bit with the 20" bar that i was running, oil was dripping out of everywhere after a cut LOL

Ok call Stihl/crater distribution at +1-800-467-8445 and tell them you've had your saw for awhile and your not happy with the amount of oil your getting and ask if they can send the 460 pump to your dealer. If they say yes ask for a case reference number and take that to your dealer and have them get in touch with crater and send them the reference number and then crater should send the pump to your dealer FREE.

They were more than happy to do it for my 362 even though it was a year out of warranty.

After I tried to find a HO oiler for my 462 with no luck I realized I had the HO out of a 460 sitting around and what do you know it fits. Any compatible Stihl saw and oiler combo you know of is welcome. I think this could really help a lot of guys. Just remember if you think your not getting enough oil MAKE SURE YOUR CHAIN IS SHARP. Do your research before buying a oiler listed on here, just because it fits doesn't mean you need that much oil...

One thing you can do on pumps like on a 362 is grind the stop or the piece on the screw back a little further. It's not much but it helps. I did mine about 1/8" and a bunch of tanks latter it's still going.

Upgrades 1128 640 3250 (HO Ms460)
I think the oiler out of a 661 would fit, waiting for someone to confirm/deny.

I'm curious what's the point of putting a 460 HO oiler in 462 is?

If you want a 462 to sling more oil, just knock in the pin on the stock oil pump, and turn the screw to max.

No disassembling or messing around trying to find compatible interchanges.

It takes a second to knock in the limiter pin on a 462, mine will empty the oil tank before the gas runs out with a long bar, so keep a eye on it.

JEST SAY'n
It doesn't matter if I'm running brand new 33rs, EXL, or something I sharpened. I know how to sharpen with hand files or a grinder, and do a good job of it. That's not the issue, the issue is the EPA and I rather enjoy getting around them.

I knocked it in, it still wasn't enough in dead dry oak.

With it knocked in I was getting about 1/2 tank of oil to a tank of gas, with a 460 HO oiler it's throwing about 3/4 of a tank.
