Kinda sounds some dirt or something is partly blocking off fuel flow on the H side. I’ve seen tiny bits of the Welch plug sealant come off before and get stuck in the H side needle seat and in the H side jet or even the transition ports.
It might be worth taking the carb apart and flushing everything out with some wd-40 even if you don’t put a kit in it.

Had trash in the H needle seat. Disassembled and flushed the carb out onto some clean shop towels. Fired her back up and she's burbling good coming out of the cut.
