You just can't leave it alone. I am the same way but I know how to fix saws.

If my project would go like this, the hammer size would be getting awfully large by now to give it a permanent "fix"!

So if I understand this correctly you got this saw..... Fixed a airleak then couldn't get it to start. Rebuilt the carb replaced coil2 times then installed a carb off a running saw. Then took the saw to the dealer they fixed it for cheap. Now it sounds like you took it apart trying to figure out what they fixed and now you made it now run again.

Guys i tried the first ignition coil and the chainsaw starts fine.I tried 0.35mm gap but shuts off at idle,then tried 0.2mm gap and runs very good.But i saw that the max rpm was about 15000 and i decreased to 13500 due to the stihl manual and guess what.....the chainsaw now doesn't start.I tried the standard setting(low 1 1/4 and high 1 1/8) but it doesn't start,the spark plug is wet.

I have a Ms 270 pretty much the same story...
Gonna try a tight coil flywheel gap .

It's been sitting under the bench over a year...
