I once again offered the same logger $1,040 cash for a pair of MS 660's that have at least 500 hours apiece on them. Ones a little older than the other, but I rebuilt top ends on both and added several new parts.

He said, "It's impossible for me to replace those two saws for that amount. I need backup to my new 661's."

There you have it. I agreed with him. Maybe next year.

Hahaha I just went thought the same thing tonight. I was looking at the two 046's on my bench and I thought for a moment I should sell one. The thought didn't last long.

I committed to sell my ms460 to my good friend. I don't need to own it. I now have a 440, 660, 7900, and P-45, all of which are fine replacements for the 460. I should really cash in my chips on that one, but still it's hard to do it. It's such a good saw. I hate to see it go.

I have two 660's and two 046's. I was eyeballing them today thinking I should sell one of each but then I started breathing fast and getting all nervous and everything so I left them where they were. Felt all better immediately.
Fear, I recommend that you do not sell any big saw that you have. Stihl is having a bunch of trouble with MS 661's. I got one in the other day that was bogging down in the cut. I decided it needed a new ignition module. These things are not easy to work on by anyone. Heck, you can't even check for a spark without special equipment.
