What is the actual weight difference between a 460 and a 660? Just curious.

As you probably have surmised, I'm not really sold on these type of hybrid builds.

I get that this is something you're building more for fun than practicability. And the fact that you're making it actually run is damned impressive. I'm also enjoying following along.

I'll weight them when I get home. I can tell you the 460 is like 84 grams. Thanks Randy. That's why I'm doin it. Plus, I figure, my 446 is such an awesome runner, why not see the next level? I'm glad my crew is along for the ride. You guys throwing down on this is what makes it fun!

Is it possible that the case volume is the restriction point here? Maybe you just can’t get enough packed in to push upwards..?
I don't think so. It's on its way. I gotta machine another piston, thin it less, and try my intake port time/area alteration I did yesterday. Randy's right. This slug is gonna grenade.

I wanted to elaborate more on this, because I feel you pose a valid theory. That is in fact the reason behind my decision to go with such a wide mouth on the intake port. I'm now at 80° before top dead center. And I've widened to within 1 mm of the skirt width on either side. Although this should affect velocity in the wrong direction, it will reduce a little bit of case compression and allow for bigger gulps per stroke, in Theory, based on my observations. I'm on my way to bust up a tree that fell across someone's driveway blocking them in. When I get back I'll take a look at my notes and I'll tell you exactly how wide I made that Port from stock.

@NateSaw , would you mind sharing what pin bearing you’re using?
You can use the 288 bearing to run that piston in an 066....but it needs a couple of bushings on either side of the rod to keep the rod centered. I make those from brass.

I'm running the lrb pin. I'd rather a lighter one. And it does need bushings. I just got this to make them. Phosphor bronze
