Now that the carb sits back 3/4", so must everything else. Throttle rod was easy. Snip and a 90*. Make plenty of clearance in handle cover. I'm a huge fan of wot, closed throttle, operator presence levers working correctly etc. I have ZERO tolerance for jenky sh*t here. I'm a moron with two left feet in the woods with a saw. Now for the choke. Less is more here. I started making a Rupe Goldberg finger trick out of sheet metal, wire, paper clips, scotch tape and Elmer's. Then I remembered copper wire. Made an axle out of thick stuff. Made a floating linkage out of thinner stuff. Got a push nut selection from the help section at unadvanced auto,installed on choke shaft. The big end is angled so it cannot fall off the master switch, yet when the carb is loosened for removal, and slid back in the studs a but, it loops right off, staying on the carb for field service ability. I'm a fan of that too. Less sh*t to fall in the leaves, never to be found again. The push nut is 'Merican, so had to be honed out to meeteric. It's tight. It'll have to be cut off. The axle hole (don't call me that) was drilled using a bit a few thou smaller for a pressish fit. Dab of cyanoacrylate. Twist, and locked. 20240308_142951.jpg20240308_143040.jpg20240308_154159.jpg

I tore up an am 440 filter base, cause I had it, so I could mount a filter temporarily for testing. There's a sh#itload left to do to make a base, and cover. I have ideas with resin, burlap, and vacuuming forming petg sheet. But... Will it run good enough? That's where I'm at. I just took it outside and fired it off. Snappier. High jet more than substantial. It's drilled one up. This is an HD 16A, I should have mentioned. This thing probably needs a wj. But that looks nightmarish. However, I won't give up on the 16a until proper port work is finished. I'm certain widening the intake, and raising the uppers is MANDATORY. Also I acquired some fresh contra angle ra heads, and a chineseum 90* handpeice... So transitioning the uppers should be much better than what's in it now. Oh yeah.... The impulse. Brass tube soldered to nipple. Warning: heat from soldering breaks the bond between the nipple and carb cover. So I used cyanoacrilate again. Lots, and twisting as it's pushed in until it locks. It locks fast so make the twisting sweep very short.

So... But to summarize thus far. Yes it can be done... Should it? I ain't know. Not yet anyway. Even if it ever makes a sh*t ton of power (which is up to you guys, especially Doc), most would consider this a PITA. 82.45CC'S, well ported, should hang with a 500i and then some of it won't be worth it to most of ya. Myself, if I get it close, I'll enjoy the cool factor enough to justify it. But this should have been Doc's build, so any fruits will be butter sweet unless there's a bushel of them. I did learn one thing however. I bet any one of us would benefit from trying this slug in a 660. It would allow for squish to be cut without lowering cylinder. Transfer could be left tighter, and intake later. So that's on my mind. I bought 3 more of these slugs incase there's a famine 🤣🤣🤣17100007976208938353104593771546.jpg

I anticipated, from the very beginning, the failure of this piston. And the clips. And the pin, and rings. Hell, I'm afraid the ring pins will walk out. I didn't wanna sling mud but this slug is a turd lol. Now a polished turd. Anyway, there 1 oem on fleebay. 90$. I wanted to see what was what, before sinking my teeth that far. Hell, I ain't got all my teeth. I need to be frugal with em. But how right you are Caleb... I'm just hoping the orgasm will come right before the fireworks, and that I catch it on film so I can upload it's explosion to only fans 🤣🤣🤣🤣
Have you found a substitute? I didn't take the time to measure their thickness. I wonder if the lands will accept oem from elsewhere. So far, my experience is no on that. I do now genuinely wish this slug wasn't from an Ole Dino. Availability was an Achilles from start. Anyone on here have the ability to talk nice to a piston manufacturer? @Duke Thieroff ? Help! Make. Money! Your stuff comes in clutch. Make us cs900evl slugs in your coated line?
