Stihl measuring tool for perfect cuts, adapt to any chainsaw

Here's a cheap tool from Stihl to buck your logs into perfect length. I did rush this video and installed it backwards, so place it on the opposite side of the bar. I didnt make perfect cuts and I started with logs that already had angled cuts, so for the imperfections but you get the point.

I found these magnetic measuring sticks a few years back, and don't have to modify them, or the bar, and mount them to the saw only when needed:

I bought one of those and of course its works but after 5 minutes it got knocked off the bar and landed on the chain and that was the end of that

Yes I do. All sorted by length. 12,14,16,18 inch. straight end cuts stacked in IBC tote crates. Conversation piece for city people. the not so straight and knotty logs go up north to people who need the denser wood for heat.

My wood stove takes 28 inch. I measure for customer specific lengths

i believe they are a chainsaw whip. they mount under the throttle handle. they use them when cutting 8 ft pulp wood. tip of chain to end of whip would be 4 ft so measure twice and cut

I saw a youtube video sometime back with a Husqvarna version that hinges out of the way when not needed.
