I understand the frustration ect but it’s a dealership problem not Stihl and as mad as he is he really should say something to Stihl for everyone and I will talk to my friend. Stihl does reprimand dealerships that do stuff like this. This is a dealership issue and problem is if they did it to one they did it to more and all it does is make all the other dealerships and Stihl look bad. They can’t even use the pro use excuse because blowers have the same warranty pro or consumer.
so here is where i am. i called the only stihl shop that i would let work on anything. its an old school saw shop in a logging town. told him the whole story and that its registered to my friend he said bring it to him and he would fighre it out. i also told not to do any work that isnt covered by warranty that i would do it myself. he said no problem.

Update. the shop called last week and said either tbe wrist pin or main bearing is tight and that it needs a new motor. So he ordered a new engine and replaced it under warranty. I got it back today and it runs great. I told my friend and asked him if he wanted it back. he was firm in his resolve and doesnt want anything to do with stihl. so i got a brand new br800 for free.

yes, yes I do. he gave the echo 9010 a few months ago that needed a carb. he put a cheap on off amazon and couldnt ever get it to run. i made that on run too. the cheap carb wont let it rev as high as it should. its about 500 rpms low but it still pretty strong

Hopefully it’s not lean of peak.

Is the aftermarket one adjustable on both the high and low like the original?
yes but the screws dont really feel like they have springs on them for tension.

the original carb with the tiny D screws look to me like the heads are buggered up. if they are i may try to solder or epoxy extentions on them so i can just adjust them by hand. if thats even possible
