It had low compression because of the piston rings had worn thru the chrome. I cant believe it didn't seize or scuff the piston. Pics 1 and 3 show where it wore thru at the exhaust port over to the transfers, pic 2 shows at the top of the cylinder above the intake.

Probably not at 50:1.

So toady I pulled off the spark arrestor and retuned. It made a big difference. It's funny how something like that can make such a big change in tune. Had to go up on both jets, about 1/4 turn richer on the low speed and 3/8 to 1/2 turn richer on the high speed jet.

He only runs a 48" bar on this saw, I tuned for torque. Jeremy runs a tree service and he gets alot of big cottonwoods. This saw is his set-up for those type of jobs.

The saw is set up on the rich side and Jeremy has a very light hand. He is of the school of thought of letting the chain do the work and the saw self feed.

When I was cutting as soon as I would lift the pressure off of it, the saw would four stroke.
