Stihl 066 Red Light

I ran the small crank for a while but 240lb of compression ate flywheel side bearings so I switched it all out for the 660 crank and bearings.

It's the best of both worlds,short case with long case guts.

Curious, how did you get the large crank in the early small case?

Did you machine out the case to accept the large case seal?

Late model 066 cases were longer than early, did you just put flat top plastics on a late model crankcase?
How many different cranks exist for the 066? 3?

It's poly 066 cases. There was flattop poly saws. I have one and deets has one.

I had 2 aluminum flywheel saws out of that batch of saws,I kept one and built the guy I got them from one. I believe. Lol

I'm pretty sure I sent you a poly saw for the big bearing deets,but I have slept since then.

One thing I am interested in is what needs to be done to run this saw with an 066 unlimited coil?

I plan to use this baby, but want to keep the red light coil in running condition, it would suck to go using it and have the red light fail...... its half the fun.

Yes it does suck: to the tune of a new coil and flywheel with the light no longer working, or a shelf holder downer.
