Oh dang!! Never get snow like that here. Haven't had any snow in over 3 years.

I've never had a saw that would turn 15000 but I've never ran a 346 either.
17k is race saw territory I think.
That's what I'm talking about!!! No More F_ _ _kin crybabiesWhat a great thread.
And Randy's the principal now.
That ain't no lie!!!I've got like the mechanic who won't work on ford's anymore, I turn down most every saw that isn't a 1122, I'll do 394/5s but I don't like many of the new saws, takes to big a box to hold the parts.
1. I was joking. As for his video and piss revving? It was cold saw.. I only piss Rev on a video when the saw was pre warmed.
To piss Rev a saw at top rpm on a cold jug/piston?? Well, you might as well give the saw to me before you scrap it... Best practice is to bring the saw to operating temperature

2. I watched the official video from Stihl that shows how to properly start a saw, and the guy in the video piss-revved the living *s-word out of it right after startup.
3. Jonathan and Jeremy like turtles, and Mastermind likes pie.
Depending on what bar I have on my 66 is how I tune mine. If it's wearing the 36" I've found that 13,200 is its sweet spot. Shorter bars get 13,800 to 14,200, but that's about as far as I goI'm finding that Richer is better in the wood. Cuts faster and saw stronger.
I need to get over the chest pounding, or lack thereof, of my tach readings.
My Masterminded 066 4 strokes at 15k. I'm running a 28" in .404 on it.
The saw has loads more grunt when richened up to 12K.
Rslf 404 063 is .018, .050 is very lowI think off the roll is .030?
.050 is low takes a good saw to noodle with that
I bet its pretty aggressive even at .030?I run my 404 at .030
I have found my 066 runs best in wood between 12 and 13K no load.
RPM's doesn't always mean torque, which is what you are after with a big saw in big timber
Have u went any farther down on the rakers to see where it was too much?on a 25" bar it works well.
Its a bit bunpy in the cut but dont it smash through hardwood like its going out of fasion
