Stihl 066 Help

Have a flat top short case 066 on the bench and need some assistance.

It has the dual key flywheel (PN 1122 400 1216)
Has the 1311 Coil on it

I am not getting spark - which keyway is used with the 1311 coil?
I'm starting to think the coil has gone on it, hasn't been run in a couple years.

It does have a generator and heated handle/carb, but not a heated handle bar

What is my best option for replacing the coil?
From what I have read I can either go with the 1311 or a 1300?

Or could it be the flywheel as well?

I am guessing I can't just change the flywheel and coil with with one that I have, since its an arctic model? Or does that matter?

Changing out the flywheel is only an issue if you care about retaining the Arctic functions.

The 1311 coils are notorious for going bad. They have timing circuits in them that make them compatible with a wide range of saws,
but it also makes them quite fragile. You should be able to switch over to the 0000 400 1300 "Universal" module without much problem.

Are you sure that's a dual-keyway flywheel? I thought the 1216 was a single keyway for the non rev-limited ignitions.

Yep she’s a dual key.
I’ll find a universal one and try it out.
Which slot do I use?

Interesting...I believe you need slot "X" for the unlimited module. Any of the recent unlimited modules should work fine. I buy used 029/039 ignitions on Ebay

Put the coil on today along with a carb kit.

Fired up right away, idles nicely. Thanks for the help!
It was on the X slot as well.
