I guess this had to happen... once..

Saw has worked for maybe 5-ish hours after rebuilding it a year ago.
Brand new Meteor piston and Caber rings.

I am not entirely sure, but i believe i did check ring gap, and deburred the port.
After grinding, port width ended up being 32mm or 61.5% of total bore diameter.

Ive read a few articles where exactly this happened with caber rings.

Cylinder and piston are "reusable" but whats the point of putting a new ring if this will happen again.

Opinions ?

On the second pic it does look like it caught a ring on bottom side of the port.

The plating is looking awful thin, any chance the plating flaked and caused the snagged ring?

There is a lot of stuff I reuse but I think that cylinder has had it. Got a feeling you're going to have to start over. Bevel doesn't look too bad and the roof isn't extremely flat. What type of cylinder was it?
Not sure what caused it but I would say srcarr knows what he is talking about and maybe the plating was thin and caused it.
