Stihl 039

Trying to get 039 up and running. It appears the run switch keeps popping to off, maybe a plastic piece missing. Any ideas? Also anyone have the service manual for the 039? Thanks Dan

Hi, the male connector at the end of the kill wire is held captive in the multi position control lever. It sounds like the lower plastic protrusion that holds the kill wire captive (that also stops the control lever passing the contact spring unintentionally) has worn down. You may be able to melt and reform the area, or use some putty to build it back up. Essentially though, I’d just order another.

EDIT TO UPDATE:

Sorry, when you said “popping off” I thought you were referring to turning off, however re reading your post, I believe you mean, popping out. If so, here is your fix.

Taryl is a great guy and very funny, but he also shares so many useful fixes mixed within the comedy, give him a chance if it’s not your humour
