Stihl 024S cylinder

Got a saw for sale. Due to some questions, I pulled the shrouds because I had to get a compression reading. The compression really surprised me. What surprised me even more was the cylinder. Without pulling it, does the "S" on the cylinder mean it was manufactured by Kolbeschmidt or Stihl? Kinda looks like the S on the KS logo. Thanks.

Doing some reading on the other site its seems like Al chimed in on a thread that the "S" means super. So its an original Super cylinder. Thats good to know. I think its a kolbensmidt cylinder too. I just might keep the bugger and run it.

Good for using up top in a bucket or other. Light and fast with a 16" bar.

That cast S indeed means it’s a super. Longer stroke. An 026 P&C is a bolt on but you need to sand down the 2 back fins if you wanna use the 024 top cover.

It’s likely a Mahle.
