Wanting Stihl PS Picco chain or any non safety chain 60dl .050 doesn't matter if it's filed or ground just needs to be square looking for a fast work chain for clean wood. Thanks

Wish I'd known there was a square picco before I bought a couple 8ten brand square for my little saw. Full width tooth does have it running slowish.

I have had good success with Rotary full chisel, which is very similar to the Stihl chain, except Oregon size rivets. It is fast and smooth. However, I don't think they have it in 60dl. You'd have to shorten a 62dl (p/n 7222062). IMG_20240608_093759_257[1].jpg

I don't think there is you have to have someone grind it.

Stihl says their PS3 is square.
it's not, ps3 is just PS with added safety rakers. PS is good chain but not square even tho stihls website does say "square cornered cutter"

yup that's what I need just square ground
I'm going to buy this PS3 chain to get the narrower tooth. It'll be square ground after a few sharpenings with a double bevel file.

Maybe the safety chain gizmos can be removed too.

The tooth isn't exactly the same?

I have one @Canadian farm boy did for me. It’s very fast, but it dulls rather quickly, even in clean wood.

I consider Picco and Squarefile more play chains. If you have the power, the wider the kerf, the longer the chain will generally last. Picco is exceptional for limbing though.

This is for that saw you did the cylinder work on, Runs amazing BTW. If it's under 16in (bar length) this is the saw I prefer to use due to the power to weight ratio it has. The Picco bar help drop some weight and the narrow kerf cuts super fast with the stihl PS chain. Was just looking to play around with square chain as it's something I haven't done before.

Picco chain is pretty hard to square grind, you have to change your grinder adjustments a lot from a normal 3/8 grind. Also the extra wingding on the PS3 gets in the way.

There is the new light bar with .325 RSP that comes on the newer 261’s. Might be your ticket. I’m told that they stay sharp longer than regular RS.

I personally like a 16” 3/8 on a good 026. Should pull it without an issue. You can go square on that and hold an edge longer than round Picco.
