Found another one…. An ‘82, 1/2 ton, 4x4, 250 inline 6, sm465. It’s a one owner, never even been out of our county. I’ll take it for $1500. :)

Still baffles me seeing ones like that sittin out in the woods with no rust. Somebody here would pay two or three times that for a truck like that.

I believe they made 366, 427 and 454 td blocks. Not 100% sure but gm made some unusual combos for hd applications. More than likely a std block but there is always that chance for a hidden gem or bastard. I have seen some pretty wicked td builds is why I mentioned it.

Steven
I have a 366 in my 1988 C70 with a 5&2, plenty of power for a 30k GVW and will get 10 mpg doing it!

Absolutely. Everyone around here wants a arm and a leg for one… it’s been that way for 8-10 years now. Before that could find them really cheap

those SQ body unit have become somewhat of a collectors item. Course any used picup now days is a bit over priced but look at the new stuff and the crazy markups some dealers are pulling off.

Ya rekon?
My ex boss paid $24k for a '86 Chevy 4x4 with 25k original miles on it!

It was 1400 miles away & he paid $1500 to have it shipped.
IMHO... it was worth it!

I had a '78 Chevy short wide when I was in high school.
Paid $1500 to have a fully blue printed 383cu built (400cu crank in 350 4 bolt main).
Big cam (screw in studs, guide plates).
Prolly close to 400hp.

Broke 3 bellhousings, & slapped a many heads off the rear glass.
Had a Hurst slap shifter in it (shift kit).

Wish I had that truck now.
Lots 'O women liked that truck!:D

I passed on a ‘75 4x4 not too long ago. Was a 1/2 ton 4x4 that someone swapped a 454/TH400 into, but trans was bad…. The guy wanted $1500 for that one and $700 for a beat to *s-word parts truck with an 350/SM465/NP205 in it. Was gonna grab them both and swap the 4 spd into it, but got too busy and missed out.

Nice! F150 looks wrecked on the passenger side? I'd still buy it for the rust free bed.
Nope. It’s actually pretty straight and rust free, the interior even looks pretty good. I couldn’t check the mileage because the battery was dead, but it’s a 5.8/auto trans 4x4…. He said one day the engine would crank over, but just wouldn’t fire. He thought it was an electrical problem, parked it, and never tried to figure it out. Never even checked for codes. Engine oil is clean and it turns over fine.
