95% around here are swiss cheese at this point

If you want a rust-free square body, there are many up here in interior Alaska. I'm more into the 67-72 chevies but buy an occasional rust free squarebody. I tear them down, sell the body parts, and keep the drive train goodies for my wood trucks.

If u or any other squarebody guys need anything, I can keep my eyes peeled up here.

They don't salt the roads, then 7 months of the year everything is a frozen dry desert.

Finally finished tearing down a surplus 1986 m1028 cucv. It was from my battalion when I was in the Army. 14,000 original miles. Just the cab left. Dmn those hydro-boost brakes, and locked 4:56 axles are going to be sweet!

Found another one…. An ‘82, 1/2 ton, 4x4, 250 inline 6, sm465. It’s a one owner, never even been out of our county. I’ll take it for $1500. :)

Cgraham1,
Nice truck! With today's gas prices, you couldn't ask for a better drivetrain. Tom Lowe at www.12bolt.com makes nice 250/292 chevy stuff.

My mother had that exact same truck growing up. She'd load 6-7 of us kids into truck bed, and wheel an old skidder trail to a river for camping/fishing. Dang that 250 was smooth towing a load of kids n camping gear.

I just picked up a 67 k10. And old plumbers truck, that mighty 250 pushed 2500 lb loads of pipe and plumbers tools in its hey day. I'd never pull a 250 for a v8.

I dunno, you've gotta watch those 67-72 Chevys, a neighbor's has become a bit cannibalistic. It started as a chassis and body that's been built for tractor pulling and bastardized. The crane was for loading firewood logs and has since been re-utilized. Someday there's a 580 V6 that is waiting to be re-assembled and installed in it again. He's also got a C60 Napco 4x4 conversion that was an ex DOT truck, it would make a pretty cool project for someone.

You know you like it Dan.:D
I used to have a '72 K5 4x4 Blazer.
Outran the cops several times in that ole truck.
I'd just pull off in a muddy field drive off 500 yards in the treeline & watch their search lights scan for me. Lol

Buddy called me this morning asking me if I wanted a K-30…. It’s a *s-wordbox but it was cheap. :D

The running gear - 454, 465/205, & Dana 60/14 bolt - will be saved for a future project. The rest will be scrapped.

As I am not a Chevy guy, I say use it as a wood getter. Just don't scratch it!
Nah. I’m gonna find a 67-72 to put everything into. I’m liking that body style better these days.

I'd put some new chrome chain on there to hold the engine in and rock that bìtch.
Oh, and probably a new headlamp too.
Too much patina for me. I think I’ll take the body off, save the trans hump and pedals, and toss the rest off a cliff somewhere…
