HELP! So where do we go from here folks?

I’ve been here from pretty much the very beginning of the site. I’m here not because anyone was paying me to do so, but because I love this place and the people who made/make it great. I’ve made some lifelong friends and lost some lifelong friends along the way too.

There Certainly have been some pinched feelers over the years. More so pretty recently. Many of the folks who left are talking about a fresh start with a new forum. For a second there I felt the same… I’m not entirely sure that fixes the problem though. It may. It may not. Rather it likely just migrates problems someplace new.

At the end of the day fellers this place is what you make of it. It’s up to you, each and every one of you, to make of this place or another place what you will. So my question to you all, the few that are left, where do we go from here?

-Stick around and “make ope great again”-

-Move on down the road and start something new-

-Stand quietly by and watch the smoldering ashes slowly go out-

-Bit of everything-

It sure would be great to hear from some folks who have chosen to abstain due to issues with previous management as well on this, but I realize that may be a burned bridge too far…

At the very least I believe whoever becomes the new admin of this site should not have a monetary interest in this site or their financial activities directly related to the site. That’s part of how we got to this point. Sorry professional porters it’s likely for the best.

I’m no longer a mod. I have no more pull here. I cannot guarantee anything will come from this thread, but I do still like all the fellers who made this place great. Well the ones who didn’t stab me in the back anyway.

I would like to see this place come back.
Their is so many good people on here that it would be a shame to let it go.
I feel like this recent mess would have been avoided if someone who gets gets paid for a saw and won't reply/mail the said saw out within say a week gets banned immediately. Hard yes, but it would prevent a lot of problems. Now if a seller goes I won't for whatever reason be able to mail the saw/parts right away and somebody still pays for them knowing that that's a whole nother story.

I haven’t been on super lots just quick check ins, doesn’t make any difference where it’s at forum wise the crap can happen on all them lots of guys came from other places because of stuff there and it always will happen to some extent no matter where you are.
No idea what’s going on or what it’s progressed too but all we can hope is they all get it straightened out somehow. If it’s over a saw or money or whatever just get the saw fixed, sent or whatever or send the funds back ect. Just make it as right as it can be between all parties involved and remain friends or part ways long as the situation is fixed.

I’m just a casual member these days myself. I just don’t spend as much time in this scene as I did 3-5 years ago & back.

Changes at OPE HQ is news to me. I certainly don’t know the drama that lead to it.

If a man can look beyond the bathroom humor and dramatic meltdowns, there is still a decent amount of good information passed around this forum every day. If you can find an administrator who has no skin in the game, it's worth salvaging what you have.
