I bought some different premix to try out. My best friend loved running this stuff when we raced MX way back. I've been trying a lot of different premixes lately just for fun.

I've also been trying out a 50-50 mix of VP Racing U4.4 oxygenated race fuel in my saws. Just having some extra fun.

$_86 (1).jpeg Bought this 395XPG last week. It's a 2005 model, but it hasn't had a hard life. It hadn't run in at least a year. I assume bio chain/bar oil was used. Because I had to pry off the chain with a scrench, it was all dried up. And inside the oil tank there were some things growing.

I cleaned it all up and it runs great. Piston looks like new.

The plastic above the exhaust has melted a bit. Is this caused by letting it idle for a long time?

I wish it was something chainsaw related but somethings are more important than chainsaws, like toilets that flush and don't back up. The old drain field was just a single clay pipe and couldn't handle the load, the inspector said the soil was to wet so I had to have the septic drain field moved to higher ground. I just have to put the pump in and run the pipe to the junction box and it will be done.

Do you drive on that area? Do you get ground frost? Sure you know what you are doing, just that I had those problems.

I paid someone to to do the drain field and he said there's enough gravel in it that driving on it once in a while won't hurt it, I"m going to put the pump and line to the junction box in myself to save a little money. I don't have to worry about ground frost, it doesn't stay cold long enough for the ground to freeze.

Looks to be ex-military:

Yes. It's a Bundeswehr (German Army) saw. Commonly referred to as a bund saw.

I've had a few of these. The bund/military saws are green, the civilian versions are red. The smaller ones are the BLK57 (that's what this is - 98cc) and the larger ones are the BLK58's at 105cc.

should I ask for the price? this chainsaw from the army

Piter - very good question! These do not trade hands very often in the U.S. on the open market, so difficult to put a value on them. Having said that, I should know soon, as this one will be for sale next week.

You can likely find these for sale in Germany, on kleinanzeigen.de. That is the German equivalent to our Craigslist; I purchased a few saws on this site when I was living in Europe. Where do you live in Poland? Anywhere near Bydgosczc? I spent a few weeks there a few years ago.
