Let us know how it works. I like the plastic case.

Many years ago I bought a small, metal one from Northern Tool, to use mostly on bicycle parts. Used water based degreaser. That one did work that well for me and went to CL. I still like the idea though

After ordering it I thought that I should have ordered a metal one so that I could add a heater, to late now but this will be better than a bucket.

@Ronie - have you ever had trouble with that degreaser? I used purple power one time on some plastic and it faded it/ etched it. I did leave it on for probably too long. About an hour.

@slackinoff I've never had a problem with it or purple power on plastic but I've never left then on plastic for very long. That Mean green I ordered is 4x as strong as the regular stuff so if I didn't dilute it It might cause a problem. I have had purple power turn aluminum dark.

@Ronie - Thanks for the info. One last thing have you ever heard of ultrasonic damaging things? I'd love to have a big one that I can say drop a starter in. Wondering if something like a starter would be a bad idea in an ultrasonic. I spent a ton of time cleaning that 61 build....I'm sure whatever the next build is will be just as filthy.

I have a 10L ultrasonic and use regular Mean Green in it. I put every part on the saw in it will no I'll effects. The ultrasonic is so amazing for cleaning saw parts.

These kits don't work too bad. I bought a similar one off Amazon a few years ago. Sometimes the really small inserts get stuck in the tool and you mess it up getting the insert tool back out and you have to try again but for the cost definitely well worth it. They work good for saws because the inserts are thin and you don't have to drill the hole too big like with some true heli coil kits.

They can damage some things, like opals (!). USCs are also used for cleaning jewelry, so a new owner might want to impress their significant other with their new purchase and end up in . . . . . .

I have not heard about any chainsaw components being damaged, but I would avoid any parts with electronics.
