I got a few 288 and 272 bits from @Woodslasher the other day. Bought a 32” stihls Chain for my stihl bar in Redding. Today my atop showed up from @Michpatriot. I was thinking I could save the 24” skip chain that I got from @chiselbit and nailed with it but I don’t think it works for skip. But I can probably at least get the hang of the angles. It will be interesting to see how the angles compare to @Armbru84 speedy chains.


Also splurged on some veepee tonight after seeing how much crap is in pump gas besides ethanol and watching @Redbull661 vids. Will probably just end up being for fast cuts and storage. Want to compare to the trufuel i still have a little of.

I got some more bar & chain oil, called the local guy and inquired about the usual fall oil sale but he didn’t believe there would be one this year but would be again in the spring. I told him I would just wait, he said there had been 2 price jumps in the last 30 days & thought there was another on the way so I told him to drop it off at the shed.

At around $5.25 gallon delivered, I will be ready for the great bar oil shortage of 2022…
I may have been a able to find some at Tractor Supply/Menards on sale a bit cheaper but they are 40/80 miles away & I would have to watch for the sale, no time for that with harvest starting.

For $50 all this followed me home as well as three plastic hard hats (a vintage PG&E, a Teichert, and a plain one), a swedish brush axe, a 5lb Council axe, a set of tire chains in a nice canvas tote, a spare rear window for my truck, and a complete, new looking Husky 350 that "ran fine at home but didn't work in the woods so I replaced it.". All this is from the guy I bought my Yella truck from, he quit logging around 1990 I believe, so all this is pre-1990 at least.
