If the bar and chain are in good shape, that alone is worth the $100.

So the question is, does it run for you?

My dad’s old 280e, been struggling to find a flywheel side crank seal for it.

That was kinda the logic I used when I bought it. It has good compression but I just got home last night and haven’t tried to fire it up yet.

I'd think so, as a 90cc class saw, even with it's age, you did good IMO.

Well I was curious as well so I took it down to shop and poured a tiny bit of fuel into the carb. She fired right up! I was waiting for it to die but It kept on idling off whatever was left in the tank

Steps have been taken to remedy that situation . Seems to run great with fresh gas
