Well the grinder arrived today safe and sound! Got it reassembled and started dialing it in. Should have a chain done in the morning and make a video! Thanks Jason!

Thanks Dan,I did take particular care in packaging it, I even called Madsens and asked them how to ship it, they were very helpful. I am shocked there is not even a scuff mark in the boxes, looks exactly how I shipped it. So whooray for Fed-ex, looks like they did an excellent job in transporting it!

They sure did! The box with the tube in it looked a little beat but that's to be expected with a 20 pound pipe in it! I was also a little nervous about the shipping! Thanks again!

Congratulations Dan !

Im going to humbly suggest a couple of things that you should do before you sharpen your next chain:

1. Add some fuel tubing and a nut to the adjusters, you can pre-load them so they don’t deviate from where you set them A783B10F-BBF9-4D42-9AB9-59DCF3B0BE58.jpeg

2. Pull apart the swing arm and lube the Torringtons, mine were bone dry and had a little dirt/grit in them334C0B8E-ACA0-43AA-AB7E-745F6BDD82EF.jpeg

Playing with a square grinder is a special treat. If you can get a little of the forward lean out of the side plate you will like that work chain. That forward lean will make it very "hungry" and will have a little shorter life between sharpening.

Thanks for the tips guys! I did adjust the angles this morning. The first chain was as the grinder was set up when I got it. I'll be grinding another this afternoon. I like the idea of the tubing and nut keeping things from vibrating!

Amazing how the grinder does better than hand filed almost right away. With some tweaks here and there, there will be no comparison. [emoji106]

I have to disagree with the tubing thing, you have keep changing these adjustments because even the chain you just ground will not be the same the next time you grind it, if the settings are the same you will miss the corner.
Just thro a different chain on there now and you will see what I'me talking about.
